Love the site. My wife is a teacher and I know she struggles with what to do over the summer. This would be great for her so she can have something to do over the summer as well as bring an income during those dry months. I will show her these websites to look into so she can start doing it now.

  3. Weston says:

Great post! I’ve looked into this a little, but didn’t know about all of these options for online language learning programs. I have a bachelor’s degree in history and have taught English in a foreign country for a month. I’ve also tutored for six months and assisted teachers in the classroom. So, I know I’m qualified, but I am afraid I won’t get the hours I need for it to be worth it.

Have you tried any of these programs? Which one would you recommend?

    Thank you for this information!

    • Kayla says:

Thanks Weston! I appreciate your compliments!

You seem very qualified and if you want more of an hourly job, then the Rosetta Stone Language Coach is the best option for your qualifications. – It’s the hardest to start because of their high standards, but I don’t think you would have a problem getting hired. (I’ve never taught for them, but I’ve gone through the Rosetta Stone program and enjoyed my experiences with the online tutors)

After that, VipKid would be your second best. (if you like working with kids) If you can commit to hours that would compliment Asia’s time zone, then you can find a lot of work. If you are from the U.S., this usually means between 3-6am M-F and after 10pm on weekends.

The other options wouldn’t ‘hire’ you as much as you would hustle to find work. But you have the opportunity to make good money if you can gain and maintain a high reputation.

I hope that helps! Good luck in your search for online work!

      • Weston says:

Thank you, Kayla! I’ll look into the Rosetta Stone program. I am from the U.S. and wouldn’t have a problem working in the early morning. I already get up that early for my current job. Thank you for the helpful info!

        • Kayla says:

          Weston,
