Free Image Websites for Blog PhotosAs a blogger, you know that Content is KING- but what’s a King without a QUEEN? (Just some vulnerable chess piece waiting to be overtaken by a pawn!) While great content is essential for bloggers, let’s face it, you can’t really grab your reader’s attention without good visuals to accompany your posts. So here is a list of my Favorite FREE IMAGE Websites along with my secret weapon for editing those images to make them fit perfectly into my website.

If you’re looking to download free images with no copyright attachments, these are the websites that offer the best quality and most variety.

My Top 5 Choices

I based my selection on a few different preferences I have.

  1. These sites did not require me to ‘sign-up’ or give out my email address

  2. They all state that their pictures can be used for blogs for free and that you can edit them

  3. I found the websites easy to navigate and use

Here is a list of my top 5 choices (only 5 because I find that most websites usually offer the same pictures.)

MMT (a good variety of nature and landscape)

Splitshire (most unique photos)

My absolute favorite website for editing my free images is CANVA!

Canva does require you to sign up for a membership BUT it is free. (They do have a paid version, but I have only used the free site).

They offer drag and drop layout designs that are easy to edit.

Canva offers different layouts: from blog titles, social media graphics, LinkedIn Banners, eBook covers, and much more!

If I can’t find a free image or layout inside CANVA, then I
upload a free image from one of my top websites listed above.

EVERY blog image I use for my Blog Titles are edited with MY BRAND NAME. Think of Pinterest. How many posts do you save or click on based on the images associated with the title (and really don’t even read)?

I already have access to these awesome images and when people Re-Pin my posts, they are also re-pinning my brand name (even if they don’t read the article, there’s more of a chance that someone else will come across their pin and read it)!

It’s just an easy marketing step to continually get your brand in
front of fresh eyes!

First thing I did when I loaded this post is bookmark it.

Thank you for sharing this. I’m glad that someone has already gone ahead and done this research for me. The only one I knew was pixabay. Do you use that?

I also want to thank you for telling me with Canva is. I’ve heard of this but I’ve been ignoring it and just realized through your post what I’ve been missing out on.

I’m so glad you found this article useful! Yes, Canva is a great resource and an excellent tool to help brand your photos and images!

I have never tried pixabay before, but after looking at it, I really like the quality of the images – Thanks for giving me another great resource to add to my list!

Best of luck with all your image work! I hope you give Canva a try – I really like it!

Cool, I have heard of Canva for editing images before but I haven’t had the chance to try it out yet. Does Canva have a library of images for use too or do you need to get the images from one of these sites first? Thanks so much for sharing!

    • Kayla says:

I absolutely love Canva and all it’s capabilities. It does have library images that you can use; however, sometimes I find that their free image selection is rather small. But I appreciate the ability to upload my own photos and edit them from there.

I don’t just use Canva for blogging – but also for clients when they need specific designs. For instance, I have done newsletters and ticket/event brochures. The possibilities really are endless!

Thanks for sharing your free image list with me.

I use Pixabay to get free images. But from time to time, they don’t have some of the images I want. It can be hard to source image elsewhere for free. So I am so happy I found your article. I will also bookmark your page so I can be updated of other website offering free images.

Thanks for stopping by! I love using CANVA to edit all my images and make sure I stick my brand out there for the world to see!

Good luck and thanks for your kind words!
